About Us
My name is Alison Stebbins.I have been involved with Wirehaired Vizslas for over 8 years now. My husband and I live in Minot, North Dakota. We are both avid upland bird hunters. We are lucky here in ND to have an abundance of wild pheasant, Hungarian partridge, & sharp-tail grouse to hunt. We hunt every chance we get during our season here which means every weekend along with some days during the work week. We also enjoy hunting deer hunt (both bow & rifle) and coyote. We waterfowl hunt on occasion. We also spend a lot of time camping, fishing and spear fishing. Our dogs are family dogs and go everywhere with us. They are house dogs and enjoy snuggling inside on the couch with us almost as much as they love hunting.

The Wirehaired Vizsla
1. They make great family dogs and are fantastic companions. They are referred to as a “Velcro dog”. They have an awesome off switch in the house & can be very well behaved and calm.

2. This is a versatile hunting breed. This breed points & retrieves. They can be used for both upland game & waterfowl. They also are great blood tracking dogs can hunt fur.
3. I believe this dog is the happiest when it is doing what it was bred for, HUNTING. If they are not hunting, they need plenty of exercise & mental stimulation. I will only sell puppies to hunting homes or homes that will at the very least hunt test their puppy. If the family is not an active hunting home they need to find other ways to exercise and mentally stimulate the dog (agility, scent work, tracking, dock diving etc.)
4. This breeds coats very from tighter/shorter coats to longer coats. Some coats need more grooming attention than others. These dogs are low shedding dogs as long as their coats are properly maintained. Their coats need to be “stripped” & never cut.
5. These dogs are easy to train as they want to please you. They can be a little more sensitive & need to be trained the correct way or they can shut down
